Blair has had a life-long love of cartoon and caricature art. He began working as an artist in 1994 following a career as a school teacher. Blair has illustrated two books and his work has been published in a range of media including newspapers, magazines, greeting cards, stickers and brochures. Blair has worked in New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom running courses and workshops for teachers and young people in art and cartooning, as well as working as a specialist art teacher in schools in London and Surrey. Blair has made several appearances on television related to his work, and offers one-to-one and small group tuition privately in is local area.

Blair began caricaturing pets on commission in 1994. Having designed a set of 28 greeting cards with his animal caricatures for card company John Sands, he started receiving private commissions for creating his animal caricatures and personalised pet caricatures from many devoted pet owners, which he then turned into an ongoing business. Blair also caricatures people and other subjects in a variety of styles as well as landscape paintings. Cartooning and caricature art, however, remain his number one passion.

All work is original and hand drawn. For colour rendering Blair uses highest grade Liquitex acrylic paints or watercolour paints and pencils.
